Learning Aim B - Task 2

    I will be promoting the rugby club i play for, Sunderland Rugby Football Club. I will be looking to promote the club for potential players, new supporters and maybe even how you can work in Ashbrooke Sports Club, where my rugby club is based. I will promote my rugby club on a social media platform, wether that be instagram, Facebook, twitter or any other platform. I will also advertise the club by producing a radio advertisement that can be played on local radio stations such as Sun FM and Capital North East. I feel that this is one of the best ways to advertise as thousands of people across the north east drive and listen to the radio whilst doing so, and the two most popular radio stations in the north east are Sun FM and Capital North East. I would aim to start my campaign just before the rugby season starts again, which is mid September, as this is when the sports club is its busiest, and is all throughout the rugby campaign.
    My target audience for the advertisement of my rugby club will be anyone looking to play for the club, work in Ashbrooke Sports Club, and people who may want to come down and support a local rugby team every other Sunday. The age groups of teams start from u7's up to u18's, as well as having 1st, 2nd and 3rd development sides. People who wish to support the teams can look through the social media platforms to find out where and when the teams will be playing. Those who wish to work at Ashbrooke Sports Club can either apply for a job in the bar or at Diego's Italian restaurant, which is located within the premises of the club.
    In order to learn the level of knowledge and understanding of Sunderland RFC, i could make a server and distribute it on a platform, specifically for people of Sunderland e.g a Sunderland Council page.
    To find out how my audience consumes media, i can collect results of what social platforms people in the local area uses. I could so this by creating a tally chart, making a survey or interviewing a number of people.
    My target audience will be able to engage with my Rugby club by either supporting, playing for or working in Ashbrooke Sports Club.
    Here is the survey i have made in order to find out whether local people are aware of a rugby club or not in their city, aware of Ashbrooke sports club, and to find out what is the most popular social media platform.
As for my radio advertisement, i have created a script which i will read off. I created a script so that i could get across all of the important information about Ashbrooke Sports Club and be able to persuade my target audience visit the official website and/or Facebook page for the club. Here is the script:
Home to the county plate winners for the 2017/18 season Sunderland Rugby Football Club, Ashbrooke sports club has more to offer than just the beautiful game. As well as having rugby teams from the age of 7 upwards, the club also has a cricket club. If sports isn't your thing, why not get yourself involved in the club by working in the bar or Diego's incredible Italian restaurant. To find out more, please visit www.ashbrookesports.org, or the clubs Facebook page www.facebook.com/AshbrookeSports.
I had to screenshot the images I used for my profile picture and cover picture, and then crop and resize them, for my Facebook page. https://www.livingnorth.com/northeast/people-places/lords-north and http://www.ashbrookesports.org/sports-bar/4575423821 is where i got the pictures from.
I asked a friend on his thoughts on my radio advertisement and social media platform. Here is his feedback;
The Facebook page has photos of what Josh is raising awareness for. He also explains his reasoning for choosing Facebook as his platform, explaining that he done primary research and also look at secondary research. On his Facebook page he also identifies his target audience. His radio advertisement is simple and gets straight to the point. He advertises his Facebook in the radio advert and also explains who his target audience is for the club.
Due to the feedback I received, I will proceed with the ideas I have for both the Facebook page and radio advertisement.
