Learning Aim D - Evaluation Assignment

In order to advertise Ashbrooke Sports Club, i used two media platforms; i created a Facebook page and a radio advertisement.

I created a Facebook page in order to publicize Ashbrooke Sports Club to local people, and I informed the audience of the multiple uses of the club, including the fact that their were job opportunities e.g working as a barman / barmaid, if you weren't interested in playing in part of Ashbrooke's rugby or cricket teams. I decided to the sports club of Facebook as it is a very popular form of social media, if not the most popular. The radio advertisement i have created gets straight to the point of what i am aiming to achieve during this campaign, it advertises Ashbrooke sports club. At the very beginning, i advertise how successful one of the sports teams have been, which is rugby, what Ashbrooke is mostly known for by local people. I also use persuasive language and say how you could have a role to play at almost any age in the sports club, whether that be playing, working or supporting. At the end, as there is so much more to know about the club, I informed my target audience of where they can find out more by stating the official website and Facebook page of Ashbrooke.

In the audience feedback i received, i found out that it was "clear what my campaign was" and that i was raising awareness of Ashbrooke Sports Club. I also found out that my target audience is clear and obvious. As for my radio advertisement, it "is simple and gets straight to the point". The target audience is also obvious and it is good that i have mentioned the official Facebook page and website of Ashbrooke Sports Club.

I decided to release my Facebook page and radio advertisement to my target audience of locals of Sunderland. This is because Facebook, on several websites, is the most poplar used social media site. I chose the radio advertisement also as it can be advertised on local radio stations such as Sun FM and Capital North East. The two are linked together as they are both about Ashbrooke Sports Club and raising awareness of it by offering opportunities to work in the club or play for either of the sports teams. I mentioned the rugby team more as that is what Ashbrooke Sports Club is known most for. The release of the social media page and radio advertisement will occur roughly at the end of June or beginning of July, as that is when pre-season training starts for the rugby teams, and when the club will become most busy, both at the bar and in Diego's Italian Restaurant.
